Srinagar, July 31 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai Wednesday strongly condemned the slapping of second consecutive PSA on Syed Imtiyaz Haider and his shifting to Ampala-jail. Sehrai in a statement issued to KNO said the court has quashed his PSA and ordered his release but despite that was kept in police custody till another PSA slapped. “We strongly condemn this repression. Using laws to prolong incarceration of political leaders and activists is most unfortunate thing. The detainees are subjected to vengeance and are shifted to outside state jails deliberately,” he said. Sehrai also expressed dismay over the “silence” maintained by human rights organization. Meanwhile, Sehrai welcomed the acquittal of Sheikh Imran after 16 years. He said after incriminating him in false cases, the judicial system made him to spend 16 years jail till declared innocent. It took them 16 years to come to a conclusion that he is innocent, he added. A TeH delegation led by Bashir Qureshi visited the residence of Sheikh Imran and shared the joy with the family.(KNO)
